Abhay had had a strange dream. Before him, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta beckoned. He was requesting that Abhay leave his house and enter sannyasa. How awful!” said Abhay as he awoke extremely emotional. He pondered. Even though he knew this was not a typical dream, the request sounded improbable and challenging. Sannyasa, please! It wasn’t anything he could do right away, at least. He needed to improve the company immediately and planned to print books with the money. While carrying out his responsibilities, he was still rattled by the dream. Know in detail about Sannyasa By Srila Prabhupada.
What is the history of Srila Prabhupada?
In Lucknow, Srila Prabhupada established a sizable industry. Those were the best times. His business grew like nothing else. Everyone in the chemical industry was aware. But after that, everything started to fade. He opened a tiny plant in Allahabad with the assistance of some friends in the same city where his Prayag Pharmacy failed fifteen years earlier. Along with his son Brindaban, he relocated to Allahabad, where he continued to produce pharmaceuticals.
What instruction Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati given to Abhay?
In his days as a householder, Abhay frequently experienced the same startling dream that he had one night. Just as Abhay had remembered him, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati emerged from the spiritual realm, part of Krishna’s inner circle, as a towering, learned sannyasi. Abhay received a call from him, telling him to follow. He called and waved repeatedly. He was requesting that Abhay enter sannyasa. Come, he beckoned, turn into a sannyasi.
Abhay woke up filled with awe. The advice he received from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati at their first encounter in Calcutta, which his spiritual teacher later reaffirmed in a letter, was to become an English preacher and propagate Krishna awareness throughout the Western world. He saw this advice as an addition to that advice. Why else would his spiritual master have asked him to accept sannyasa if it wasn’t for that purpose? Abhay deduced that his spiritual master told him to enter sannyasa to complete this mission successfully.
Previously, the moment wasn’t appropriate. A Vaishnava who accepts sannyasa gives up all other commitments and dedicates his entire being to serving the Supreme Personality of the Godhead. He was already carrying it out. The main disciples of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati were allowed to accept sannyasa to carry on his work, but they declined. Even the most well-known sannyasis of the Gaudiya Math found preaching in the West dangerous.
Abhay carefully thought things over. How could he, an ordinary householder, believe he could succeed where the others had failed? He hesitated. There was the sense of helplessness and incapacity he had described in his “Viraha-ashtaka.” However, his spiritual master suddenly called to him, overriding all other factors, even his inherent humility. Even though he was old and alone, he still had a tremendous, occasionally subdued, urge to preach in the manner of his spiritual master.
Why Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati had taken sannyasa?
The purpose of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati’s sannyasa was to help him in his missionary activity. To advance his sankirtan movement, Lord Chaitanya took sannyasa. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was a Supreme Personality of Godhead, without a doubt, yet He had entered sannyasa after His youthful students had disrespected Him and treated Him like an ordinary man. Lord Chaitanya’s embrace of sannyasa was a deliberate move because a sannyasi is naturally respected; as soon as He started traveling around India as a sannyasi, he gained thousands of followers for the sankirtan movement.
