Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura was the main Acharya of the Gaudi Weissnava family. He was the only disciple of Srila Lokanatha Gosvami. Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura helped carry the Gosvamis book from Vrindavan to Bengal and Orissa.
Story of Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura
The Story of Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura is not new to the people dedicated to him. Appearing as the king’s son, Shri Narottama Dasa Thakura (Shri Thakura Mahasaya), confirmed all of the physical signs and symptoms of a mahapurusha (an exalted divine person). He had lengthy arms. A deep navel, golden complexion, and stunning eyes formed like the lotus petals. In school, he became a Sruti Dhara (capable of memorizing what he hears).
By the grace of the Holy Name Gaura-Nitai, Narottama became detached, left his wealthy family, and ran to Vrindavana. He took Diksha from Shri Lokanatha Goswami and siksha in Gaudiya philosophy from Shri Jiva Goswami. He became a lifelong brahmachari and quickly mastered Sanskrit and the Vedas, with a pledge to serve Lord Krishna his entire life.
After journeying to all of Gauranga’s interesting locations in Gaura Mandala, Narottama Dasa did the identical in Shri Kshetra Dhama (Jagannatha Puri). When he arrived in Navadwipa-dhama, all of the Devotees requested from him about the fitness and sports of the Goswamis in Vrindavana. They have been keen to listen to the information from Vrindavana.

This became the first “Gaura-Purnima” competition to honor the divine look day of Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. During the competition, six Deities were installed: Shri Gauranga Deva, Shri Vallabhi Kanta, Shri Vraja Mohana, Shri Krishna, Shri Radha Kanta, and Shri Radha Ramana.
How His Chanting Filled the Heavens?
With his sweet voice, Narottama Dasa started a wonderful Kirtana. His chanting filled the heavens and brought Prema’s tears from the eyes of believers who played in the sea of ecstasy. Amid their Kirtana, the generous Shri Chaitanya Himself and all his companions appeared and joined San Kirtana.
Like a lightning bolt surrounded by many beautiful blue clouds, Shri Chaitanya Himself appeared in a crowd of believers by the manifestation of God. The people of Sri Navadvipa Dhama saw him more closely than Nimaicandra or Visvambhara because they knew him when he was young.
These followers were attracted to Mahaprabhu of sakhya and vatsalya rasa. The six Gosvamis followers, who knew Mahaprabhu only as Sanyashi, had a relationship with him in the mood of Dasharasa.

Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura wrote many devotional songs.
Narottama Dasa Thakura has written many devotional songs about the Devotees, the spiritual master, devotional service, the six Goswamis, Gaura Nityananda and Radha Krishna. Narottama Dasa composed songs with sweet melodies in simple Bengali language giving shastric Siddhanta and holy inspiration.
Prarthana and Prema Bhakti Chandrika are Narottama’s most famous works. Shrila Prabhupada often sang these bhajans. Considering them nondifferent from Vedic shastra, He quoted them in his Bhagavatam lectures.
The following excerpt is from Prema Bhakti Chandrika. “Radha and Krishna are my life and death goals, and they are my breathing masters. Playing Bajan just for them, I go up and down in the sea of Prema. I always keep this concept. I hope I can keep it in mind as my supreme ideal.”
“Serve the lotus feet of Radha Govinda. Fill my spirit with. Dedication to the shape of your God to conquer the beauty of Cupid and Lati. Put a straw between your teeth and fall to your sacred feet to make a humble appeal. O’ Nanda Maharaja Son of Shyamasundara! And Shri Radha, the daughter of King Vrishabhanu.
You also fascinate the tension, and your body color is the golden lotus color. Krishna has a body color like the jewels of Indranilla (blue jewels) and ridicules Cupid of your beauty.
Top dancers Shri Radha and Shri Krishna dance in their heads. Their beauty enhances the charm of your dazzling ornaments. Thou shalt continue to chant your glory in great ecstasy day and night. His Samadhi is in the courtyard of the temple of Ladago, Canada.”
